About SourceBook Florida

This website is the Internet version of the Senior Services SourceBook, which is a high-end publication serving Seniors in Northeast Florida.
Oliver Brown is the Author of the Senior Services SourceBook, and he has adapted its content for this website.
Oliver traces the genesis of the SourceBook to the day he brought his elderly mother home from the hospital after she had a stroke. As he walked through the front door he realized that he “didn’t have a clue” about how to deal with this dramatic change in his mother’s life… and in his. Where would he find a wheelchair? How would he go about finding In-Home Care? Was this covered by Medicare?
Over time, he had dozens, even hundreds, of other questions yet; he found no single source he could turn to for answers. So that you don’t have to search, search, and search Oliver has created this guide with “Everything you need to know…but may not know… all in one place.”
About the Author

Oliver C. Brown
Prior to his writing career, Oliver Brown worked for Time Inc. and one of the world’s largest ad agencies, Young & Rubicam. He was also a Partner at the trailblazing media giant, Whittle Communications, and then the COO of Commercial Credit Counseling Services; America’s largest corporate debt restructuring company. When he struck out on his own, he became the Founder and Publisher of YOUR HOME magazine. In the early part of this century, he founded and managed eNavigate, a company that built world-class websites at the dawn of the internet.
Oliver relocated to the St. Michaels, Maryland seventeen years ago to care for his elderly parents. Life as a Care Giver was more time-consuming than he expected, and he soon found himself essentially “retired” from his traditional career. As a hobby, Oliver began to write short stories, poems, and vignettes; and to his surprise they were sometimes picked up by local and national periodicals.
While caring for his parents Oliver found that, although the local area had a tremendous number of services for Seniors, there was no organized way to find them. He wrote the Senior Services SourceBook to address this need.
Oliver moved from Maryland to Nocatee a year and a half ago and he now wonders why it took him so long.
